Varios reportes indican que aun cuando dentro de TNA tienen planes a largo plazo, la realidad es que estos cambian casi todas las semanas.
Los planes originales para Slammiversary eran el poner a Sting vs. RVD por el World Title, Mr. Anderson vs. The Pope y Matt Morgan vs. Samoa Joe.
De estas tres luchas, la única que no se pudo dar fue la de The Pope, esto debido a su lesión.
